Open Keepall like an app

Add Keepall to your computer or phone and open your library from its own icon.

01

Choose the app or extension

Installing Keepall adds an icon for the library. Keepall Capture is a separate Chrome extension for saving content from websites on a computer.

You can use the app, the extension, both, or the website alone.

02

Install with Chrome on a computer

If the install icon is absent, Chrome's menu has Cast, save, and share, then Install page as app.

  1. Open www.keepall.app in the Chrome profile used for the library.
  2. Select the install icon in the address bar, or Install page as app in the menu.
  3. Confirm installation.
  4. Open Keepall from its new icon.
Installation illustration. Chrome's install icon is on the right of the address bar. Install page as app is also available in the menu. Appearance depends on the browser version.

Install with Chrome on Android

Menu labels depend on the Chrome version. Alternatives include Add to Home screen and Install app.

  1. Open www.keepall.app in Chrome.
  2. Open Chrome's menu.
  3. Select Install and create shortcut.
  4. Select Install.
  5. Complete the installation prompts.
  6. Open Keepall from its new icon.

Install with Safari on iPhone or iPad

The Home Screen app has a separate library from Safari. Installation does not copy existing saves.

For existing saves, a backup export from Safari can transfer the library to the Home Screen app.

  1. Before saving items, open www.keepall.app in Safari.
  2. Open Share from the toolbar or page menu.
  3. Select Add to Home Screen.
  4. If Open as Web App appears, turn it on.
  5. Select Add.
  6. Open Keepall from its Home Screen icon.
Installation illustration. Safari's Share menu has Add to Home Screen. Some versions also offer Open as Web App. Appearance depends on the browser version.

Transfer an existing library

A different browser, profile, device, or site address has a separate library. The iPhone and iPad Home Screen app also has separate storage from Safari.

Installation does not sync libraries. A backup import transfers a copy once.

  1. Before switching, export a backup from the library with your saves.
  2. If the new app has an empty library, import that backup.
  3. Check the imported items before deleting the original copy.

A backup import transfers a library copy once. Libraries do not sync automatically.
